Amazing concept work. Would you have any suggestions on how to go about deciding a scene's layout?

I'm not looking for a full description or a step-by-step thing, just maybe a trick you use, or a place you get good reference work from or a good resource for more info, or something. I'm not particularly well-versed with architectural/interior design (real or fantasy lol).

thanks!)mostly i'm searching at beginning of work reference photos from google, stocks, all that can help me to do design for the illustration. Objects location I'm deciding by myself, also I'm taking textures from the cgtextures.com )
